Hertha's Hoeness Talks Tough
Hertha Berlin director Dieter Hoeneß was in no mood to mince words after his side were sent crashing out of the German Cup by Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
An extra time goal by Diego Klimowicz condemned the capital club to their second successive second round exit, and has upped the pressure on Swiss coach Lucien Favre dramatically.
"Favre knows our expectations towards him an the team," Hoeness hissed. "The public granted him a transition year, but this is over now."
Hoeneß had even harsher words for the referee on Wednesday, who awarded Dortmund a controversial penalty early on which put Hertha at a disadvantage to start.
"It was wrong to award them a penalty. If that was a penalty, then we should have been awarded one every 30 minutes in every game we have played," he rumbled on.
The Berliners will now be looking to bounce back immediately when they play host to Energie Cottbus in round 6 of the Bundesliga this weekend.
