Bolton Wanderers To Unveil Brazilian World Cup Winner?
Former Real Betis winger Denilson could soon be displaying his talents at the Reebok Stadium...
English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers could be set to announce the signing of Denilson later today, according to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Star.
It is claimed that the winger has earned himself a contract with the Trotters having impressed manager Gary Megson while on trial at the club recently.
The Brazilian's brother told Gazetaesportiva.net: "He (Denilson) has undergone several tests and was highly praised by the staff.
"They said that, despite not playing for a month, he is in the same condition as the other players.
"Bolton board members told us that Denilson's situation has to be settled on Wednesday. I am optimistic, they gave him the key to the closet of the training centre."
The 31-year-old was highly regarded as a youngster with Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo and became the world's most expensive player when he moved to Spanish club Real Betis for €23.8 million in 1998.
The 68-time capped Brazilian winger, who was part of the world cup-winning squad in 2002, has another club lined up should the move to Bolton not go through.
"If they [Bolton] do not give us an answer then I am going to consider that the negotiations are over and, in this case, we have other proposal from another European club," his brother insisted.
