Arsenal Gunning For Boulogne's Steven Mouyokolo
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to return to French football to unearth yet another new talent in the form of Steven Mouyokolo...
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has his sights set on Boulogne defender Steven Mouyokolo, according to a report in the British tabloid The Sun.
It is claimed that Wenger rates the defender very highly and is hoping to bring him to the Emirates from France's Ligue 2 for £4 million (€4.2 million) in January.
The 21-year-old French starlet, who is of Congolese descent, has hugely impressed this season after helping his club climb to second in the table.
His rich vein of form has alerted a host of Premier League sides, including Newcastle United, Wigan, Middlesbrough and Bolton Wanderers.
However, Mouyokolo may favour a switch to the Gunners as much to do with their French contigent as with their Big Four status.
William Gallas has been strongly tipped for a January departure from the North London club, so Wenger may want to push through a deal for the former Chateauroux and Guegnon defender.
