TEAM NEWS: Buffon out of Serie A curtain-raiser for champions Juventus
The goalkeeper is ruled out of the season opener thanks to a thigh injury, while Parma will be without Amauri for the visit to the striker's former club
Defending Serie A champions Juventus will open their 2012-13 campaign without inspirational goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who is replaced by Marco Storari between the posts due to injury. The former Parma shot-stopper suffered a thigh strain during training earlier in the week, and Juve caretaker coach Massimo Carrera will not risk him against his old club. Martin Caceres, Simone Pepe and Mauricio Isla are all unvailable, as is Lucio who will miss out on his first Serie A game since completing a free transfer from Inter.
New signings Kwadwo Asamoah and Sebastian Giovinco will both be on the field, while young keeper Nicola Leali gains a place on the bench due to Buffon's injury.
Colombia international Dorlan Pabon, meanwhile, will partner Ishak Belfodil up front in his first appearance since completing a summer transfer from Atletico Nacional. Jonathan Biabiany will start in place of Amauri, who misses out on facing his old club because of a muscle complaint.
