Juventus cancel friendly against D.C. United with North American tour in doubt

The cancellation of the match in Washington D.C. could be followed by the Old Lady scrapping the other two matches on their scheduled trip due to the Italian Supercoppa

Juventus have pulled out of a scheduled friendly against D.C. United that was set to take place on July 28 at RFK Stadium, throwing their three-match tour of North America into doubt.

The Old Lady recently learned that they would be playing Napoli in Beijing for the Italian Supercoppa on August 11, with the timing of the game in China presenting coach Antonio Conte with a daunting travel schedule.

Aside from the now-scrapped D.C. United game, Juventus are scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain in Montreal on July 31 and Real Madrid in Las Vegas on August 5. Those matches could now also be cancelled.

"We've received word that Juventus FC will no longer be playing in Washington, D.C.," a D.C. United statement read.

"While we're disappointed with the news, D.C. United are already in discussions with another, major European team to fill that date and will share opponent and ticketing details as a deal is finalized."
