Miccoli agent frustrated as contract talks with Palermo have stalled
The former Juventus forward is keen to remain in Sicily but his representative claims that Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini is keeping them waiting on new terms
Fabrizio Miccoli's agent has expressed his dissatisfaction with the current impasse regarding talks with Palermo over a new contract for the veteran striker.
The former Italy international only has a year to run on his current deal and has been repeatedly linked with a move abroad.
Miccoli has stated that he would like to remain in Sicily but his representative, Francesco Caliandro, has revealed that the forward's future remains very much up in the air.
"There is a contract that binds Miccoli to Palermo until 2013," the agent told Sportitalia. "We had a chat with the president [Maurizio Zamparini] but there was an tone of confrontation that left the talks hanging.
"At the moment, there are no developments. Fabrizio is a Rosanero player and has always shown the necessary desire to give importance and significance to his contribution during these past five years."
Miccoli joined Palermo from Juventus in 2007, after a two-year loan spell with Portuguese side Benfica.
