Cambiasso has expressed his thanks to his president and the fans for their backing, despite defeat to Parma all but ending their title dreams
The loss leaves the champions eight points behind rivals AC Milan with just five Serie A matches remaining, and the crestfallen Argentine told Inter Channel: "We have to thank our supporters, just as we must thank our president for the words that he dedicated to us this week. Unfortunately we weren't able to satisfy anybody, neither the fans nor the president.
"There are times when everything easily goes your way, and then there are others, like today, where you have to stick it out and work hard. Now we're looking forward, as this team has always done. We'll keep our heads up, hopefully with a bit more clearness of mind.
"We wanted to win because we don't like losing. This team has desire as well as commitment. Unfortunately, today it went wrong."
Inter must recover to face Roma in the first-leg of their Coppa Italia tie in the capital on Tuesday evening.
