As 2009 draws to an end, Roma captain Francesco Totti has admitted he will always fondly remember the events that happened over the past few weeks.

“It was a really unforgettable month, which also witnessed my comeback to the Internet,” he writes on his new official website.

“And then so many other exciting moments: the win in the derby, the top spot in the Europa League, the climb up the [Serie A] table until we reached the fourth place and most of all the formal announcement of the contract that will tie me to Roma forever: I’ll be Giallorosso for life.”

Totti has penned a new five-year deal to stay at the Olimpico until June 2014 before assuming a director role.

“That was a dream come true,” he continued. “I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope you will come back here any time you want.”

Roma will be back in action in Serie A on January 6 when they travel to Cagliari.
