Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has penned a January return date in his diary as he gives an update on his recovery from injury.

The powerful hitman has been out since October after having surgery to his knee. He is back on the mend, and hopes to be back in action in 2010.

"The recovery is going well, but we need to be patient for the swelling of the knee to go down in order to get back up and running," the Italian told Juventus Channel.

"I should be running within the next week or so. Once I start working normally then we can look at a return, but I hope to be 100 per cent fit for January."

Iaquinta admits seeing the action unfold from distance makes for some painful viewing, especially when the team loses.

"It's not a good sensation, but I have to live with it," he added.

"I saw the match against Bordeaux. It was not a nice game as we wanted to qualify for the last 16. We have to beat Bayern Munich now."
