Inter And Roma Ponder Balotelli-Aquilani Swap - Reports
There are whispers on the peninsula that the Serie A giants are in negotiations to complete a sensational trade…
The incredible story alleging that Inter and Roma are discussing a potential swap deal involving teenage striker Mario Balotelli and midfielder Alberto Aquilani emerged last night during Mediaset Premium programme Calciomercato.
'Super Mario' has publicly voiced his frustration at his lack of opportunities under the new regime of José Mourinho while Giallorossi ace Aquilani has been locked in contract re-negotiations with the Eternal City outfit for several months; his current deal will run out in June 2010.
The move is highly feasible and would definitely suit both parties, as the Nerazzurri would be able to meet Aquilani’s economic demands - €4 million per season – which have proved to be a major stumbling block in his talks with Roma. Meanwhile, Balotelli’s wages of €1m per season are well within the Lupi’s budget.
However, it remains to be seen whether Inter supremo Massimo Moratti will give the go-ahead to the transaction, since he has repeatedly stated that Balotelli is ‘untransferable’.
