Lazio And Fiorentina Prepare Rocchi-Pazzini Swap Deal
The hitmen could move in opposite directions next January, after growing frustrated at their lack of first team opportunities.
Tommaso Rocchi apparently fell out with boss Delio Rossi last weekend, as he was overlooked for the home match against Genoa and only made a substitute appearance in the second half.
The emergence of Argentine sensation Mauro Zarate this term has seen the Italian international slide down the pecking order at Lazio and he could look for a way out during the upcoming transfer window.
“I have to accept the trainer’s choices, even though I don’t agree with them from time to time,” the 31-year-old declared yesterday.
Giampaolo Pazzini is living a similar situation in Tuscany: he has not stirred up any controversies so far, but he is clearly unhappy at being the third or fourth choice striker at Fiorentina.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are planning a sensational temporary exchange deal that would see Pazzo join the Laziali in January and the former Empoli man moving the opposite way to further bolster Cesare Prandelli’s front line.
