Doni: 7.0- He was sporting a giant sized bandage on his head which did not affect his reflexes as he made a great save on Zarate in the 51st minute and a vital block on Pandev in the 74th.
Tonetto: 6.0- Protected the left flank with gusto and earned his paycheque with a solid effort.
Juan: 6.5- Showed glimpses of his old self with a commanding performance keeping Rocchi and Pandev in check.
Mexes: 7.0- Won everything in the air tonight it what was a herculean performance by the Frenchman
Panucci: 6.0- Pushed forward well and sent in some delicious crosses from the right flank.
Brighi: 7.0- Did very well protecting the Roma back four and was a vital part of the derby win tonight.
De Rossi: 6.0- Passed a late fitness test to feature in the derby but failed to impress with his set piece deliveries tonight.
Perrotta: 6.0- Did his team no favours with a foolish tackle that earned him a straight red card with the match on the line
Vucinic: 6.5- Had a golden opportunity foiled by Carrizo in the 19th minute and set up Menez for a brilliant opportunity that went begging in the 76th minute.
Baptista: 7.5- One of Roma’s summer signings finally paid dividends as the Beast’s glancing header beat Carrizo for the only goal of the game.
Totti: 7.0- The beloved Roma captain supplied the cross for Baptista’s goal.
SUBS: Menez (75”) 6.5, Cassetti (77”) 6.0, Taddei (88”) NA
LAZIO
Carrizo: 7.0- The Argentine goalkeeper made a great save on Vucinic’s diving header in the 19th minute as well as a crucial stop on Menez in the 76th but could do nothing on Baptista’s well placed header.
Radu: 6.0- Had to be wary of Panucci’s forward runs and had a tough time in the second half dealing with Vucinic,
Rozenhal: 6.0- Teamed up well with Siviglia in the heart of the defence but it was poor marking that lead to Baptista’s goal.
Siviglia: 6.0- Kept a tight lid on Totti and Baptista in the first half but the duo combined for only goal of the match early in the second half.
Lichtsteiner: 7.0- Rumbled forward on a couple occasions and would have been pleased with his overall performance except for the free header he sent over the bar in the 90th minute.
Brocchi: 6.0- The ex-Milan man battled hard in the midfield trenches but could not match the steel of Brighi and De Rossi
Ledesma: 5.0- He is usually the architect of the Lazio attack but was muzzled by Brighi and to make matters worse was sent packing in the 65th minute as he failed to keep his emotions in check.
Mauri: 5.5- Did not have the space necessary to create any chances and was eventually substituted off early in the second half
Rocchi: 6.5- The inspirational Lazio captain almost tied the match up in the 69th minute with a curling effort that almost found the roof of the net.
Pandev: 6.5- It was a subdued effort from the pride of Macedonia in the first half but came close to finding the back of the net twice in the final 45 minutes.
Zarate: 7.0- Missed a free header in the 22nd minute but was the most dangerous Lazio player tonight even though he faded in and out of the match in the second half.
