Teams

Inter and Napoli continue to fly following excellent wins over Roma and Juventus respectively. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the man for the Nerazzurri and, once again, he makes it into the team. Milan were also outstanding as Kaka and Ronaldinho combined to down Sampdoria...

Best XI

Formation 3-4-3

Goalkeeper

Julio Cesar (Inter)

The Brazilian goalkeeper made a number of fine saves from Roma's sharp shooters. The final score would probably have been 4-4 had it not been for world-class stops from the 'Keeper. Kept his side in the game and he continues to show his class under Jose Mourinho.

Defenders

Christian Terlizzi (Catania)

The stopper was in fine form for his side during the 2-0 win over fierce derby rivals Palermo. He was a commanding presence at the back and he led by example when his team went down to ten men. A superb showing from Terlizzi as his performance went towards keeping the Elefanti flying high.

Gianluca Comotto (Fiorentina)

An influential part in La Viola's 3-0 win over Reggina on Saturday night. He was solid, organised and he hardly put a foot wrong. Always on hand to clear up the mess as he taught the Calabrian's a lesson in how to defend.

Christian Maggio (Napoli)

The Italian was like an engine which never runs out of petrol. He raced down the wing on countless occasions and he controlled the right wing. Maggio made the difference for his side and Juventus panicked every time he crossed the ball.

Midfielders

Ronaldinho (Milan)

The Brazilian magician was outstanding during the 3-0 win over Sampdoria. He did everything right as he led his side to glory. He is getting better every week as he finds his feet in Serie A. A performance which had all the hallmarks of the Ronaldinho of old.

Marek Hamsik (Napoli)

He was the reason behind Napoli's success over Juventus. Grabbed the equalizer and went on to drive the Bianconeri around the bench. He was all over the pitch and he proved to be the thorn in Juve's side.

Kaka (Milan)

Kaka started on the bench against Sampdoria and he didn't come on until the second half when the scores were still 0-0. It was 3-0 45 minutes later. A crushing impact on the match as the Blucerchiati felt his full force. Simply outstanding as he showed the form which made him the World Player of the year last term.

Dejan Stankovic (Inter)

His right foot strike against Roma was such high quality that it earned the Serbian a place in this week's best XI. He was great for his side as he showed Mourinho he is worthy of a regular starting role in the team. Superb.

Strikers

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter)

Is there anything Ibra can't do? Doesn't look like it. He scored a goal which even Francesco Totti applauded and, once again, he seems to have ended Roma's Scudetto dream. In this form, Ibra will win the Ballon d'Or next season. The magician of Serie A and fans will tell you the ticket price was worth every penny for the goals he scored.

Alberto Gilardino (Fiorentina)

The Italian international is back to the player we all knew at Parma four years ago. He came off the bench to score a quick-fire double against Reggina to make the points secure. Gila can do the business any time any place and he proved that the club's €14m investment this summer was worth it.

Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli)

Everyone is talking about El Pocho and there will be even more hype after his showing against Juventus. He did the damage when it mattered. Quiet at times but then exploded into action like a rocket with an assist and a goal which won the game. Not quite the San Paolo's 'new Maradona' but he is getting there, rapidly.
