De Biasi gave a radio interview in which he talked about the upcoming transfer window and expressed his surprise that goalkeeper Matteo Sereni did not get selected for Euro 2008 as Gianluigi Buffon's stand-in.

"I hope we will reinforce the team to consolidate its position in Serie A and avoid making the fans suffer too much," he said.

"We are working to figure out what we want for next season. Let's not forget that the club has existed only three years under its current management and we need time to make it competitive."

On the current squad, he said: "Our current group of players has great qualities so we only need to reinforce it in a few key positions of all three departments."

He then spoke about Italy coach Roberto Donadoni's call ups to Euro 2008. "I'm disappointed Sereni wasn't called up, he deserved it, even though he had less opportunities to show his qualities than other players, but had an excellent season."

Of Antonio Cassano's surprise call up: "It was right to call him up, but I expected he would be."
