Valencia defender Antonio Barragan insists that president Manuel Llorente is not to blame for his side's poor league position.
Some of the club's supporters have been criticising the Valencia president for the side’s predicament, with the team now down to 11th in the Liga standings. But Barragan said: “The culprit is not the president. We are the players and we have to try and get three points and normalise things a bit."
Los Che suffered a 5-2 home battering by Real Sociedad earlier this month, followed more recently by a 1-0 home loss to Rayo Vallecano.
Ernesto Valverde’s men will now look to their next fixture against Getafe as a chance for a crucial three points, with Champions League qualification still the target for the season.
“We know the circumstances of the team, we have not had easy games at the Mestalla,” the former Liverpool man added.
“We want to arrive on Friday, play a good game, get three points and move towards where Valencia deserve to be.”
