Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil has insisted that rumours claiming his extravagant social life is affecting his performances on the pitch are completely false.
Reports have suggested that Jose Mourinho is becoming concerned by the 23-year-old's behaviour away from the pitch, with reports on Spanish TV show Futboleros suggesting that the player's active social life has been causing problems over the past 12 months.
However, the attacking midfielder took to his personal Facebook page on Wednesday to dispel such notions, insisting there is no truth behind the stories.
"About the rumour I go often out at night: It's not true! Since new season started, I was almost never out. I train and work as a professional," he posted.
Ozil played a vital role in Los Blancos' title-winning campaign last season, but there has been speculation about his long-term future at the club following the arrival of Luka Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer.
He has featured eight times for the Liga champions so far this season.
