Player Ratings: Deportivo La Coruna 0-0 Valencia
Goal.com's Ewan Macdonald rates the players on show at the Riazor...
Aranzubia - 7: Seldom tested but confident in distribution
Manuel Pablo - 7: Very good use of his experience and positional sense.
Colotto - 7: After a poor start he came back much stronger.
Lopo - 8: A towering presence, seldom rattled and always confident.
Filipe - 7.5: Some good long ball play, and he dealt well with the little that Joaquin threw at him.
Antonio Tomas - 6: Unspectacular, but did not provide any trouble.
Sergio - 6.5: Broke up play well, but had to do better when faced with goal.
Juan Rodriguez - 6: Inconsistent. Veered across the pitch, and was capable of great and awful play in the same five minutes.
Valeron - 8: What a player he used to be. We still see flashes of that in his play. Again, though, wants in the finish.
Guardado - 7.5: It's hard to decide if his teammates can't meet his final balls, or if he's not measuring them properly. Either way he gives his opposing full-back trouble.
Adrian - 6.5: His build-up play was excellent but he could not bury the ball.

Pablo Alvarez 6.5
VALENCIA (4-2-1-3)
Cesar - 6: Looked shaky against some headers, but had little to do.
Miguel - 6.5: Got forward to decent effect and, while not flawless, at least kept Guardado on the leash most of the time.
Alexis - 4: Caught out time and again from the long ball over the top. Not confident in the least.
Dealbert - 7.5: A towering presence in the back line, he compensated for Alexis' failings.
Bruno - 7.5: Similarly impressive, and dealt with set pieces well.
Albelda - 6: Uninspiring but decent enough play from the experienced midfielder.
Baraja - 5: Ineffective on the ball and clumsy in the challenge. It wasn't a surprise when he was the first one to be removed.
Ever Banega - 8: A very fine showing from Banega. All that Valencia truly managed came through him. Underrated by many.
Joaquin - 5: Could not find any play worthy of the name.
Villa - 6.5: Did well with the scraps he was given, and tracked back well, but couldn't hit the target.
Mata - 6: Not one of his better evenings, although he seemed to take a knock at an early stage.
