Manuel Fernandes has assured followers today that he will carry on working at Valencia, despite the fact that he, and all the other players, have not been paid lately.

The club are known to be in financial trouble, and it is thought that the amount owed to the team is around €14 million.

However, Fernandes told Marca that he will keep on working without payment.

"I speak for myself and I will continue working and I do not want to leave here," he stated.

The midfielder has been quoted recently as saying that he wants to leave to go back to England, but he explained those statements by admitting, "Some day I would like to return, but now, I am happy at Valencia."

Fernandes was part of the side that picked up an impressive draw in Ukraine last night against Dynamo Kiev, and he is pleased with the result.

"The goal is worth double, and even though we could have done more, it is a good score," he mused.

The Portuguese international also spoke about his desire to play more for los Che this season.

"I expect an opportunity to show that I can play, but I know that there are other players too...Everyone wants to play and I am no different," he concluded.
