Fiorentina have consistently denied these stories, and now Mutu’s agent Alessandro Moggi has confirmed for the umpteenth time that his client will be staying put.
"Adrian is happy to stay in Florence,” said Moggi, who then went on to say that a new contract has been sorted.
“He accepted the proposal of the club and would like to become captain."
Meanwhile Viola goalkeeper Sebastien Frey is set to follow Mutu’s lead, and also sign an extension.
Last season Frey established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in Serie A, producing a string of stunning performances to help the Viola qualify for the Champions League.
The Frenchman’s brilliant form saw him heavily linked with a summer move to both Milan and Bayern Munich. However the 28-year-old last month confirmed that he will be staying at the club.
