Neves Or Nothing – Atleti Director
Atlético Madrid’s sports director, Jesús García Pitarch, has maintained that Fluminense star, Thiago Neves is the last name on their shopping list and if they fail to land him, then there will be no more signings.

But Atleti’s sporting director, Jesús García Pitarch is still holding out hope that they can land the 23 year old before the transfer market closes on the 1st of September. However, he is also aware of the competition provided by Hamburg SV, who is also chasing the Olympic bronze medallist, as well as the player’s current owner’s refusal to budge on the €12 million offer.
“During this last week, we have made an offer for Neves, but the offer has not been accepted,” he told Marca.
“I do not know if an agreement will be reached or not regarding this situation but if it does not work out, then I believe there will be no more new signings

Atlético have recently completed the loan deal for Argentine Éver Banega, while Portuguese midfielder Maniche seems to be slowly returning to favour at the club and Pitarch will happily rely on the pair if the Neves deal falls through.
