And according to News of the World, the Spurs boss is willing to splash out ₤8 million to bring the 23-year-old to White Hart Lane.
The former Coritiba man would be an ideal inclusion, as Korean defender Lee Young Pyo is likely to return to Asia this summer, while Welsh teenager Gareth Bale is currently sidelined with a long-term injury.
Adriano can play either flank in defense or midfield, and he could be targeted as attacking cover given the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Spurs wingers Steed Malbranque and Aaron Lennon.
Spurs have already secured the ₤16.5 million signing of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, signalling their intent to push for Champions League qualification next term.
