Bostock, a sixteen-year-old midfielder, became the youngest player in Palace’s history after making his debut against Watford earlier this season aged just 15 years and 287 days.

The youngster is already showing signs of developing into a top player, and the Eagles wanted to tie the player down to a long-term contract.

However, after this week's defeat to Bristol City in the Championship play-off semi-final, the prospect of a chance to play in the Premier League appears to have lured Bostock to pastures new.

"I've been told he's going to sign for Tottenham but I'm not sure. I'll be speaking to his dad," said Palace’s manager Neil Warnock.

"It's disappointing really if that's the case because I've not been told myself as yet."

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is currently re-building his squad in an attempt to challenge the top four in the Premier League next season.

After winning the Carling Cup in March of this year, a number of players have been linked with moves both into and out of White Hart Lane as the revolution continues.
