They have been in and out of form for the large part of the campaign; however their form of late has been dreadful, as they have just two of their past eleven matches, including three comprehensive defeats in succession.
To make matter worse, the Biancocelesti have a had a tough time with injuries and suspensions throughout, including some longer term problems to some, including Fabio Firmani, a player who has been sidelined for more than four months.
Firmani has made 25 appearances for the Biancocelesti, since joining them back in 2005 from Catania, and so he certainly has not been one the most prominent of players for the club over time.
With this in mind, Lazio have decided to ship him off to Dubai for a four month loan period, where he will play with Al Wasl in the UAE League.
In an interview with TMW, the 30-year-old made his thoughts and feelings on the move clear, prior to setting off on his four month adventure.
“I can confirm that I will be back in four months,” Firmani affirmed in the interview.
“I am not saying goodbye to my club, and to my team mates,” he added.
“Lazio called me to ask me to go abroad, in order to rediscover some form, and so I am convinced that they see me as a useful player in the future.
“I will remain close to my team, and I wish them all the best for the remainder of the season,” Firmani concluded.
Lazio have another difficult test in the league this weekend, when they travel to Florence to face Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi stadium.
