Zarate has been struggling with a few niggling injuries since reaching the peninsula and joining Lazio at the beginning of the season, but despite his physical drawbacks, the striker has done extremely well and can claim a great deal of the credit for Lazio's current form and position in the league table.

The Argentinian has contributed seven goals in this campaign already and has worked tirelessly to set up others, allowing Lazio to reach fifth spot in Serie A with 23 points to their name.

The Biancocelesti get back to training this afternoon in preparation for this weekend's encounter with Atalanta, but the Argentinian starlet will not take part in the session with his team mates, as he is scheduled for physiotherapy for a problem in his left thigh that he picked up in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Genoa.

His participation in the Atalanta league game is in doubt, but reports suggest that he will be able to recover in time and will be present in the starting eleven that will take the pitch at the weekend.
