Tommaso Rocchi was left out of the Lazio starting line-up at the weekend, and was reportedly furious with his coach’s decision as a result.

Delio Rossi has opted to play the in-form Mauro Zarate and Goran Pandev ahead of the Lazio captain for the large part of the campaign, which has consequently minimized Rocchi’s time on the pitch this term, as opposed to previous seasons.

Following the Genoa clash, the Lazio number 18 made it clear that, “I cannot be happy and pretend everything is okay, as I am not that type of person.”

Since then however, he has come out and publically stated that, “I did not want to create all of this commotion. This is just a minor issue that we as a club need to deal with and resolve.

“I did not say anything controversial, outside of course of what I already knew – referring to the fact that he was relegated to the bench in favour of Zarate and Pandev.

“It’s a normal thing that happens at all football clubs. And so with [Delio] Rossi, I hope to clarify things as soon as possible.”

The Biancocelesti fans will be hoping that their captain and coach can mend their relationship in the near future, as the club has failed to win in their past two outings, and face Atalanta in Bergamo next weekend.
