Ousmane Dabo has been out through injury and has not played a game yet this season. Now, though, he finds himself getting ready to return to playing at a time when the club is experiencing a fantastic run of form, currently topping the Serie A charts.
Dabo is recovering well and has assured the fans of his condition, saying, “I feel much better and I'm hoping to start running again on Monday when we will evaluate the progress.
“Even though I am not playing, I have worked hard not to lose form.” Giving an indication of his possible return, Dabo added, “I hope to be on the bench for the game against Fiorentina, or else for the Torino match.”
Mauro Zarate has been grabbing the headlines at the club with his three goals in two Serie A games and Dabo had kind words for the Argentinian striker. He enthused, “Zarate is young, but extremely good. I like that he is also very helpful in a defensive sense,” said the midfielder.
Most players would be worried by the idea of having to compete with such a talented group of young players, but the 31-year-old is confident in his ability, concluding, “I know about my qualities and that's why I'm not afraid of the competition.”
