Reports in Italy claimed the
midfielder had fallen out with the club over a wage issue as he demanded a better deal but the Biancocelesti didn’t fulfil his desires.
Lazio chief Claudio Lotito recently revealed that Ledesma could leave the Olimpico. A number of clubs including Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina were linked with the player but he may stay after all.
His agent has cleared up all the confusion surrounding the turbulence between Ledesma and the Aquilotti.
“It’s not true that Ledesma wants to leave Lazio,” the agent told Radio Radio.
“He just doesn’t want to hear about contract issues at the moment because he is trying to give his best to the team.
“He may stay on at the end of the season or he may leave but it will be Lazio who decide this.
“Christian had asked to meet the club to discuss a new deal but this didn’t happen. Now he doesn’t want to discuss a new contract anymore and that is his choice.”
The Roman club have strengthened well over the summer and they are likely to challenge for the European places this term.
Ledesma’s future still remains uncertain and he may end up leaving as Lotito has stated that he doesn’t want players like the midfielder at his club.
