Makinwa Not Leaving Lazio

Stephen Makinwa’s agent Silvano Martina insists his client will not be leaving Lazio despite reports claiming the contrary.

The striker has been heavily linked with a move to newly promoted Chievo Verona but his agent has other ideas, claiming the former Palermo man is happy in the capital.

“My client is doing fine at Lazio and there are no negotiations currently in place with Chievo Verona,” Martina told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Stephen has great faith in his coach and I don’t think that there will be any novelties by the time the transfer window closes.”

Makinwa spent last season on loan at Reggina but he only made nine appearances for the Calabrian side as he spent most of the season on the bench.

With Tommaso Rocchi on the road to recovery and Goran Pandev in great form, chances seem like they will be at a premium for the hit-man and he is likely to be third choice at the Olimpico this term.

A move to the ‘flying donkeys’ would seem the better option for the under-fire striker given the lack of chances he will get with the Aquilotti.
