thumbnail Hello,

The Brazilian club have been slapped with a disappointing news as the young striker will have to spend another lengthy spell on the sidelines following another knee injury

Coritiba have announced that Barcelona-owned striker Keirrison is facing six months on the sidelines after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The 23-year-old striker, who is loan at Couto Pereira until 2014, has been plagued by injuries in recent times and will have to go under the knife again after undergoing surgery on a knee problem last year.

Keirrison lamented that he has suffered another serious injury - the fourth in his career - but is confident that he will be able to fully recover from his most recent setback.

"I did not believe that I had sustained another injury, and many times you get speechless, thinking about a million things," he told reporters at a press conference.

"But I know God has a purpose for my life. We get sad, but that will be over and I have to move on because I am only 23 years old and I have a lot to live.

"I know that a lot of people depend on me, so I know that if I am capable of helping out a lot of people, especially here, at Coritiba.

"It is one more challenge that I will have to face and I am sure that I will overcome it."

The Brazilian striker signed for Barcelona in in 2009 in a €14 million deal but has not yet made a single appearance for the Blaugrana, spending the last three years on loan at six different clubs.
