Colombian striker Hector Hurtado arrived in Peru on Monday to join his new Sporting Cristal teammates for preseason training.

Hurtado is excited about his latest challenge, and he is hoping to make history at the Peruvian giants after two years at Universitario de Deportes.

"I arrive at a big institution, a serious institution, who have been interested in me for a while. I'm proud about wearing this shirt, it is a new project and I'm hoping to give my best," Hurtado declared to the press, on his arrival at the international airport of Lima.

The 33-year-old affirmed that he penned a one-year deal with Sporting Cristal, and that he will immediately travel to the Northern city of Trujillo to begin preseason work with Juan Carlos Oblitas' side.

As well as this, Hurtado affirmed that he wants "to start to make history in the (Copa) Libertadores." Sporting Cristal will face Estudiantes de La Plata of Argentina in a preliminary playoff for a berth in the prestigious continental competition.

Hurtado is keen to impress with Sporting Cristal, and is expecting to experience a memorable year.
