Nils Petersen has revealed that he could return to Bayern Munich once his loan spell at Werder Bremen comes to an end at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
The 24-year-old struggled to make an impact at FCB in his first season after joining the club in 2011, and was consequently shipped out on loan to Werder.
He has since netted 11 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances and would be open to a return to the league leaders if he gets a chance to prove his worth.
"A return would make sense if Bayern tell me that I am part of the coach's plans and have a shot at playing time," Petersen told Goal.com.
"I do not know what Bayern want, though. I am focused on the remainder of the season for now. The decision-makers at the club will then hold talks and decide on my future."
The striker then went on to discuss Bayern's performances this season, and had nothing but praise for his parent club.
"Bayern are in a completely different league at the moment. We all saw that at the weekend..."
The Bavarians recorded a 6-1 win over Werder on Saturday.
