Moshoeu: South Africa have not qualified yet

Goal.com spoke exclusively with the former Bafana Bafana maestro and he has urged Gordon Igesund's men to remain focused ahead of their final group game against Morocco

Former Kaizer Chiefs and South Africa midfielder John Moshoeu says the players should not let the win against Angola go to their heads.

'Shoes', as he is affectionately known, said that Bafana need to up their game now they have the support of the fans, because they still have to get at least a point against Morocco to ensure progression.

“People were saying different things after the first game, and [again] there are different stories now that Bafana beat Angola,” Moshoeu told Goal.com.

“But it’s all up to the boys now. They need need to step up to the plate because we haven’t qualified until we get the result against Morocco in the next game."

Moshoeu believes there should not be any pressure on the players to win all the matches, as long as they do enough to qualify.

He added: “The world expects the hosts to at least make it to the knockout stages."

Bafana will meet Morocco in their final Group A match on Sunday, and are hoping to make it to the quarter-finals of Afcon for the first time since 2002.
