Rennes' Yann M'Vila not interested in QPR move
The 22-year-old's agent insists that his client will hold out for a larger offer, although admits that there has been no contact from Arsenal for the exiled France international
EXCLUSIVEBy Jack Gaughan
Yann M'Vila is prepared to reject a move to Premier League strugglers QPR, Goal.com has learned.
The Hoops, who are six points from safety at the bottom of the table, had a bid of £6.5 million rejected by Rennes for the midfielder, but are expected to go back in for the Frenchman.
No talks with the player have taken place, but any attempts to lure the 22-year-old to Loftus Road seem to be futile, delivering a further blow to Rs manager Harry Redknapp in his desperate effort to stave off relegation.
M'Vila has been long linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham, but interest from the north London pair appears to have waned in recent months.
The 22-cap France international was banned from the national team for 20 months earlier this season after breaking a team curfew when on duty with the Under-21 side, and M’Vila’s agent Tim Hager admitted to Goal.com that the Gunners have not made contact over his client.
Hager also revealed that a January transfer would be preferable but that they are keen to make sure it is the "right sort of club" that he eventually joins, while confirming that no discussions with Arsenal have taken place.
"There is interest from a lot of clubs. Yann has a good contract at Rennes – it is possible that we can stay there and be patient," he said.
"Every transfer window we are asked about Arsenal because of what the newspapers say, but I have not spoken to them about Yann."
Rennes manager Federic Antonetti claimed over the weekend that M'Vila would leave the club once a suitable offer came in, while the player recently admitted he would be open to a move to the Premier League.
