Manchester City are ready to turn their attentions to Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal after missing out on Roma's Daniele De Rossi this summer, Goal.com has learned.
Manager Roberto Mancini is a huge admirer of the Chile international but the Premier League champions may have a fight on their hands with Juventus reluctant to sell one of their key men.
"Mancini loves this guy to death and has briefed owners about him,” a source told Goal.com. "There was talk last summer Tevez or Dzeko might have been involved, but Juve wanted silly money."
The 25-year-old has already attracted the attentions of Real Madrid after impressing in his first season with the Serie A champions following his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, meaning City could be set for more transfer frustration.
As exclusively revealed by Goal.com back in August, the Premier League champions chased De Rossi this summer and were ready with a £31 million offer only for the player to snub the chance of a move to the Etihad.
Roma later claimed that the Premier League champions had offered £80 million for the Italian international in a summer in which they also brought in midfielders Jack Rodwell, Javi Garcia and Scott Sinclair.
