Galatasaray close in on Felipe Melo
The midfielder's transfer to the Istanbul giants seemed to have fallen through, but it is now back on after both clubs successfully resumed talks earlier in the week
EXCLUSIVEBy Romeo Agresti
The saga involving Felipe Melo's protracted transfer from Juventus to Galatasaray appears to finally be nearing completion, Goal.com understands.
The 29-year-old already spent the 2011-12 campaign on loan at the Turkish champions, and they are keen to make his stay at the club permanent.
However, a deal looked to have collapsed after Gala failed to agree terms with the Scudetto holders over a fee, but they have refused to give up on Melo's signature.
Juventus are ready to cash in on the Brazil international this summer, but want to receive a transfer fee close to €8 million for the former Fiorentina star.
Galatasaray have since re-opened negotiations with the Serie A champions and, while there is no agreement just yet, they are hopeful of wrapping up a deal by the end of the week.
Spartak Moscow have also shown an interest in signing Melo, but the midfielder has no intention to move to Russia as he has his heart set on a return to Istanbul.
