No Lyon offer for Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier, says agent

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has not yet received an offer from Les Gones to replace the France No.1, his representative has revealed

Stephane Ruffier is yet to receive a formal offer from Olympique Lyonnais to succeed Hugo Lloris, his agent Patrick Glanza told Goal.com.

In an interview with Goal.com France, Glanza said he was aware of the rumours regarding his client moving to Lyon after president Jean-Michel Aulas mentioned his name as a possible replacement to Hugo Lloris, who is reportedly close to leaving Ligue 1 this summer.

"I have heard of the rumours doing the rounds," Glanza said.

"But so far no offer from Lyon has reached my desk and Stephane is very happy at Saint-Etienne, where he is under contract."

Ruffier was instrumental in his side's seventh-placed finish in Ligue 1 last season, which prompted the Lyon president to say: "If Remy Vercoutre [Lyon's substitute goalkeeper] is not good enough, we can still go for [Bordeaux's] Cedric Carrasso or Stephane Ruffier".
