Ramirez keen to join 'big club' but is prepared to remain at Bologna

The 21-year-old is said to have attracted the interest of a number of Europe's elite, but he insists that he will stay at the Dell'Ara if nobody meets the Rossoblu's asking price

Gaston Ramirez has revealed to Goal.com that while his objective is to secure a move to a "big club" this summer, he would have no problem remaining at Bologna for another season.

The Uruguay international is regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Serie A and he is rumoured to have attracted the interest of Inter, while Goal.com has already revealed that Manchester City lead the Premier League pursuit of the attacking midfielder.

However, Bologna president Albana Guaraldi has warned that the club will not allow Ramirez to leave the Renato Dall'Ara unless one of the interested parties meets their reported €20 million valuation of the 21-year-old, a stance that the player finds perfectly understandable.

"If there is not an interesting offer, one which suits both the club and myself, I would feel fine staying in Bologna," Ramirez explained. "The people love me, I love the club, so I'm very happy being in Bologna."

The former Penarol starlet admitted, though, that he is flattered by speculation linking him with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

"It is a great joy and is a reward for what you are doing," he confessed. "Every day I try to improve in order to get to a big club to play important games.

"I think when people are talking about such things [moves to high-profile sides], it assures you that you are doing well. But I must continue working hard to make these words come true."

However, Ramirez insisted that he will only accept an offer which is also acceptable to Bologna.

"I am thinking of the interests of the club," he claimed. "The best offer has to be good for both of us."

Ramirez joined Bologna from Penarol in the summer of 2010 for a reported fee of €2.5 million.
