The former Blancos centre-back spent a season in France with Arles-Avignon and feels that the pair would be making a mistake if they decided to move to Parc des Princes

Francisco Pavon has warned Real Madrid duo Gonzalo Higuain and Kaka against joining Paris Saint-Germain, claiming that Ligue 1 is several levels below La Liga.

Javier Pastore has already revealed that Higuain is considering joining him at the Parc des Princes this summer, while Kaka has been linked with a reunion with former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti in the French capital.

Pavon, though, believes that the pair would not find Ligue 1 challenging enough, having spent a season in the top flight with Arles-Avignon.

"On a football level PSG are nothing compared to Real Madrid, just as the French league has nothing on the Spanish," he told Goal.com. "It is several steps above [Ligue 1], but if they are looking at it in terms of playing time or a purely economic perspective then that's a different story.

"The French league is quite physical, with very strong players, and, on a technical level, it's not bad. But it's not Spain.

"The pace of the game is very high and there is more running, more long balls and more pressure."

Regarding his own future, Pavon admitted that he is now considering entering the world of coaching, having failed to find a new club following his departure from Arles-Avignon.

"I ended up in France last year and when I left, there were offers from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus," the 32-year-old Madrid native explained.

"But I preferred to stay in Spain, waiting to see if this season would bring something interesting that would allow me to continue playing or, if not, start working as a coach, which is what I want to be."

Pavon, a product of the Blancos youth system, spent six seasons with the senior squad before leaving for Zaragoza in 2007.
