Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has warned his team-mates of the dangers of Bayern Munich's "world class" wingers, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, stating the champions have to pay special attention to the duo when the two teams meet on Wednesday
The top two in the Bundesliga come head-to-head this week in a match that many believe will have a massive say in where the title will go this season, and Lewandowski was keen to highlight the dangermen for Jupp Heynckes' men.
"[Franck] Ribery and [Arjen] Robben are both very dangerous world-class players. We must pay special attention to them, primarily on the wing play," he told Goal.com.
The forward was also on hand to praise his compatriot, Lukasz Piszczek, claiming the full-back is on a par with Bayern's Philipp Lahm.
"There is no difference between the two, at most perhaps just a little," he told stated. "Lahm is experienced, but both are world class and can play at the highest level."
The match has not only been billed as a clash between the league's top two clubs, but between the best full-backs and strikers. And while Lewandowski was full of praise for Bayern goal-getter Mario Gomez, he underlined that the game matters more than his individual duel with the Bundesliga's leading scorer.
"It is first and foremost a match between Borussia and Bayern. Mario scores a lot of goals, so we must be especially careful of him. I am convinced that we can keep the upper hand in the game."
While Wednesday's encounter will indeed be a huge game in the title race, Lewandowski does not feel a victory will decide the final standings at season's end.
"If we win against Bayern on Wednesday, it is another step forward, but the victory would not guarantee us the championship."
Dortmund and Bayern kick-off from the Signal Iduna Park at 20.00 CET on Wednesday.
