The centre-back is not on the Bavarians' radar and is expected to remain in France. However, the presence of a scout from the German side at a match against Lyon was not denied

The agent of Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has scuppered rumours that Bayern Munich are interested in signing his client.

After French media spotted a Bayern scout at a recent match between Montpellier and Lyon, Goal.com contacted the former France U21 international's agent, who knew of no interest from the German side.

Instead, the 22-year-old is expected to remain in France; a stay at Montpellier will depend upon whether the club qualify for the Champions League.

There was no denial that a Bayern scout had attended the match, a 1-0 win for Montepellier on Saturday, leaving it open for speculation as to whom the Bundesliga leaders were watching.

Maxime Gonalons, Samuel Umtiti and Gueida Fofana, Dejan Lovren and Aly Cissokho were among the players on show in whom the Bavarians might be interested.
