Bernd Schneider has showered high praise for Borussia Dortmund attacker Mario Gotze and future BVB star Marco Reus.
The latter recently confirmed his summer transfer from Monchengladbach, and Schneider is excited to see the young Germany internationals in action in future.
"These players can sometimes decide a game on their own. They are technically very sophisticated. It's great fun to watch them," Schneider exclusively told Goal.com.
"They are very unpredictable and technically strong players who look for one-on-one situations and can win them. This makes them stand out, and a team needs such individuals especially to play in today's tactical game," he added.
The ex-Leverkusen midfielder also commented on his former club's chances as they head into the Champions League round of 16, where they will face Barcelona.
"The chances are low for sure. But no matter against who they were to have played, it would be a tough task. As the Champions League winners they currently have the most outstanding team in the world and have lots of great individual players. They will be very, very difficult."
However, Schneider feels that the German national team have a good chance to pip many of Barca's players to the European Championship.
"Germany are certainly among the favourites. Clearly the Spaniards will make a good account of themselves, as will the Dutch, and perhaps a team like England."
In December, Germany were drawn with the Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark into Euro 2012 Group B.
