Goal.com is delighted to introduce the next in the ‘Goal.com Meets…’ series as we sat down with Barcelona President Joan Laporta.
Having overseen one of the most successful periods in football history, Laporta’s tenure as President looks set to end with another glorious campaign following last seasons six-trophy haul in which Pep Guardiola’s men secured the La Liga and Champions League titles.
Despite defeat by Inter Milan in the semi-final of Europe’s elite competition days ago, Barcelona currently occupy the top of La Liga having once again raised the bar of football performance.
Goal.com Founder and President Gianluigi Longinotti-Buitoni had the opportunity to discuss the secrets behind the club’s on and off-the-field success, what Laporta is most proud of and what he feels his legacy will be.
The first in this series saw Goal.com travel to Malaysia to discuss football in Asia with Asian Football Confederation President Mohammed Bin Hammam.
As the world’s largest new media football community, Goal.com is uniquely placed to bridge the gap between the fans, the players, the managers, the owners and the other figures of power who can inspire an upward trajectory for the beautiful game.
“Football is the universal passion that connects cultures, communities and generations. We will look at the sport we love the most through the eyes of those world football leaders who will tell us their stories and how they will contribute to the future of the game,” Longinotti-Buitoni said.
