Diarra left Pompey for Real Madrid last month, but the Premer League outfit have yet to fill the void despite receiving €22 million as compensation for the French international's loss. Poulsen has been added to their wish-list and Juventus are currently preparing themselves for a potential offer from England.
The Sun claims directors at the English side have already met with the player in order to discuss terms. Poulsen has not managed to hold down a regular starting place in Claudio Ranieri's first eleven since his summer arrival from Spanish side Sevilla.
With a lack of playing time in Turin, reports suggest the 29-year-old has become fed up and wants out. Juve are likely to send him out on loan until the end of the season, giving Pompey an option to buy the player permanently for €5.5m.
As well as Poulsen, Portsmouth manager Tony Adams has also taken a look at Udinese's Christian Obodo, however, the Friulani have stated that none of their players are for sale during the January transfer window.
