Lippi spent a total of 10 years as Juve coach where he won a number of major honours including the Champions League. The tactician still holds the Bianconeri close to his heart and he recently spoke of a return after his time with La Nazionale.
Lippi doesn't agree with the league table, which shows Inter at the summit, four points ahead of second placed Juve.
"I think Juventus have been without a doubt the best team so far," Lippi told ANSA.
"Juventus have had an impressive Serie A campaign and they finished as group winners in the Champions League.
"I think Inter will have to sweat for the Scudetto this year."
Lippi has a friendly game with Brazil to think about in February and the coach cannot wait to meet the Selecao.
"I am fascinated by this game as I have never played against Brazil in 40 years of football," concluded the coach.
Juventus clash with Lazio this weekend, when they could close the trim to Inter by three points.
