Juventus are raring to return to action after the Christmas break and not just on the pitch…

The Ata Hotel Quark in Milan is set to re-open its doors for the January transfer window and the Bianconeri will try to make the most of it to further reduce the gap from the Inter Milan juggernaut.

Director of sport Alessio Secco seems particularly eager to strengthen the back-line and Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reports this morning that Juve have made important progress in negotiations to bring Fiorentina youngster Manuel Da Costa to the Stadio Olimpico.

The 22-year-old central defender’s agent, Franck Peslerbe, will meet with Fiorentina directors on Tuesday, but the Gigliati are still reluctant to accept the Bianconeri’s current offer.

Juventus would like to throw midfielder Sergio Almiron in the deal; the Argentine cost around €9 million in 2007, but the Viola deem this price to be excessive.

In the meantime, Spanish media reports allege that Juventus are also keeping an eye on Valencia left-back Emiliano Moretti, who has been plying his trade in La Liga since 2004.
