Juventus are expected to dive into the January transfer market to further bolster the squad in order to keep alive their Scudetto dreams and mount a serious challenge in the Champions League.
According to a Corriere dello Sport poll, the Bianconeri fans have overwhelmingly voted in favour of a move for Spanish international David Silva.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is currently at Valencia, but Los Che’s financial troubles might force president Vincent Soriano to part company with a host of big-name stars, including Silva.
The Primera Division club’s debts reportedly amount to over €150 million and they will probably try to inject some cash into the club during the January transfer market, having held off on selling any of their major stars over the summer and continuing to suffer as a result.
Juve are closely monitoring the situation and Corriere dello Sport claims that coach Claudio Ranieri is particularly fond of the EURO 2008 winner.
It is alleged that the skilled midfielder would command a fee in the region of €20m, but the Corso Galileo Ferraris are confident of sealing the deal with a bid of €16m to land the man who is expected to fill Pavel Nedved’s boots in Piemonte.
