Amauri is charged up prior to the Stadio Olimpico big match between Juventus and AC Milan, but is keen to play down the importance of the result.
“It is the Derby d’Italia and we all feel ready,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “My parents are already in front of the TV, as the game will be broadcasted live in Brazil.”
“It will be a special night, but we cannot become obsessed with it, as the championship is still young.
“We must play a perfect game, with the same winning mentality that we have boasted over the past few encounters.”
The former Palermo marksman joined the Old Lady this summer, but the Diavoli were also rumoured to be in the frame to secure his services.
“It is indeed true that Milan approached me, but Juve wanted me more than any other side,” he confessed.
“They did everything to bring me in and I feel I made the best possible choice in the end.”
