The Frenchman has been suffering from a long-term tendon problem and he underwent surgery on Thursday morning.

Everything went to plan and Doctor Cerulli cleared up the damaged tendon.

However, the stopper has been told that he will have to wait 90 days before the injury heals completely.

There was also good news for Gianluigi Buffon. The goalkeeper has been out for six weeks after tearing his adductor muscle but he has been recovering well and the latest news from Vinovo suggests he will be back in action in January.

Christian Poulsen is still out and he will have to rest for the next few days after aggravating a muscular strain on Tuesday.

Juve will be involved in action on Saturday night when Claudio Ranieri takes his troops to the San Siro to take on league leaders Inter.
