The Bianconeri have one foot in the group stages
following their 4-0 demolition of Artmedia in the preliminaries and confidence
is high at Vinovo.
Buffon is already looking further down the line and insists the team can reach the Rome 2009 final in May via good football and the great support of the tifosi.
“If we believe in it then everything is possible,” Buffon told Tuttosport.
“With the support of our fans, we can get to the Rome final. The fans have shown us so much love and I believe they can give us the extra energy to go all the way.
“If the fans are near us we can give more than 100 percent.
“I think we have great hopes for the Champions League and we can hold our own. There will be teams who are stronger and more organised than us - but the strongest team doesn’t always win.”
Buffon was outstanding for Juve last term and his shot-stopping ensured the Bianconeri returned to Europe’s elite club competition for the first time in over 29 months.
