Lukas Podolski’s adventure at Bayern Munich seems to be drawing to a conclusion as he is gradually beocming estranged from the first team squad. The Bavarian outfit have swooped to sign American forward Landon Donovan on loan from LA Galaxy after already reaching an agreement with Hamburg hitman Ivica Olic for next season.
It remains to be seen whether Podolski will stay put until the end of the current season or demand to move on during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated at his peripheral role in the squad and a number of clubs are allegedly monitoring the situation. Primarily this chase is headed by Koln, Podolski's former side, and Hamburg in the Bundesliga, while AS Roma provide an Italian alternative.
However, Turin newspaper Tuttosport claims today that Juventus are also lining up a bid, even though the marksman stated yesterday that he would prefer a move to Spanish giants Barcelona or return to Koln.
Bayern have made it known that not less than €10 million would be required to capture Podolski, but the paper alleges that the Old Lady would have no problem in meeting their demands to add more strength-in-depth to their front line, which can already boast last term’s Serie A top scorers – Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet – and summer arrival Amauri, who has made an immediate splash in Piemonte.
